The deadline to exclude yourself from the Settlement was December 29, 2017, and the deadline to submit a claim was February 12, 2018. Class Members who submitted eligible claims were mailed settlement checks on June 7, 2018. These checks were made payable to the claimant names provided on eligible claim forms and were mailed to the addresses provided on those claim forms, unless a claimant contacted the Settlement Administrator after submitting a claim form to change the claimant’s name or mailing address. The Settlement Administrator may no longer accept requests for name or address changes and cannot reissue settlement checks for any reason, unless the check is returned by the United States Postal Service with a forwarding address.

If you received a phone call about a “Cash for Relocation” program offered by Altisource, you could receive a payment from a class action settlement.

A class action settlement has been proposed to resolve claims that Altisource Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (“Altisource”) violated a federal law that restricts automated calling to cellular telephones when it allegedly made calls to 56,104 cellular telephone numbers using automated calling equipment from October 16, 2013 through June 1, 2016. The calls allegedly were part of a “Cash for Relocation” program in which Altisource offered to pay people whose homes had foreclosed to move.

The Settlement, if approved, would provide $1,800,000 to pay valid and timely claims of those persons who received any of these calls from Altisource, as well as to pay Class Counsel’s attorneys’ fees and costs, a service award to the Class Representative, and notice and administration costs of the Settlement. Class Counsel estimate awards in the range of $100 to $300 per eligible cell phone number for participating class members.

If you received a notice about this lawsuit in the mail, you are likely a class member. If you are a class member, your legal rights are affected whether you act or don’t act. Read the complete class action settlement notice carefully.
